McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo has tested positive for Covid-19 after feeling unwell during the week. The Australian is expected to be released from quarantine in time for next weekend’s season opening Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen led McLaren’s Lando Norris on the opening day of 2021 testing in Bahrain as world champions Mercedes endured an uncharacteristically difficult start to pre-season with their new car. The day also saw Hass rookie Mick Schumacher make his debut in the sport.
