Portugal to return to F1 calendar in 2027 & 2028

Portugal will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2027 and 2028. The race will be held at the Algarve International Circuit near Portimao, which held two grands prix during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. Portugal will effectively be a replacement for the Dutch Grand Prix, which will be held at Zandvoort for the last time next year. Portimao is a 2.89-mile track that swoops over hilly terrain and is highly regarded for its driving challenge.

Hamilton victorious in Portugal as Bottas cracks

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton got the better of his teammate and pole sitter Valtteri Bottas to win the Portuguese Grand Prix. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished second with Bottas third. Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez finished fourth.

Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas out qualified his teammate Lewis Hamilton to take pole position ahead of tomorrow’s Portuguese Grand Prix. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen looked strong in practise but had to settle for third and a place on the second row of the grid.

Hamilton makes history with victory at Portuguese GP

Lewis Hamilton recorded his 92nd Formula 1 win today at the Portuguese Grand Prix surpassing the record set by Michael Schumacher. The Mercedes driver finished ahead of his teammate Valtteri Bottas and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
