Everton have sacked manager Frank Lampard after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by West Ham left them 19th in the Premier League and without a win in 10 matches in all competitions. Lampard’s dismissal follows Everton owner Farhad Moshiri attending his first match since October 2021 as the Toffees succumbed to defeat at the London Stadium – their third consecutive loss in the league.

Arsenal retained control of the Premier League title race after Eddie Nketiah’s 90th-minute winner gave them a dramatic victory over Manchester United in a thriller at Emirates Stadium. United took an early lead but Nketiah and Bukayo Saka had put the Gunners ahead before a Lissandro Martinez headed set up a grand stand finale.

Juventus have been docked 15 points following an investigation into the club’s past transfer dealings, Italy’s football federation (FIGC) says. The Serie A giants were accused of fixing their balance sheets by artificial gains from club transfers. Juventus had been in third place but the penalty will drop them to 10th.

Manchester United have signed Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst on loan for the rest of the season. The 30-year-old was on loan at Turkish side Besiktas from Burnley but has ended that move early to complete a switch to Old Trafford. Weghorst scored eight times and provided four assists in 16 league appearances for Besiktas, while adding one goal in two Turkish Cup outings.
