Manchester United sign Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnely

Manchester United have signed Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst on loan for the rest of the season. The 30-year-old was on loan at Turkish side Besiktas from Burnley but has ended that move early to complete a switch to Old Trafford. Weghorst scored eight times and provided four assists in 16 league appearances for Besiktas, while adding one goal in two Turkish Cup outings.

Sean Dyche has been sacked as Burnley manager after 10 years with the club battling relegation from the Premier League. Burnley are currently 18th in the table, four points from safety. American company ALK Capital has completed its takeover of Burnley, acquiring a controlling 84 per cent stake in the Premier League club.The investors announced the completion of the deal, approved and ratified by the Premier League, in a statement today.
