Arsenal go second with win over Burnley

Arsenal moved level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City courtesy of a hard-fought victory over beleaguered Burnley. The Gunners, beaten at Newcastle last weekend, had struggled to break down a disciplined Clarets side for much of the first half but broke the deadlock when Leandro Trossard bravely nodded in at the far post for Arsenal’s 1,000th goal at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City for £30m

Oleksandr Zinchenko is the latest player to join Arsenal after leaving Manchester City for a move to the Gunners. Zinchenko, who can player in multiple positions including left-back and central midfield, will be reunited with Mikel Arteta, after the pair worked together when the Spaniard was Guardiola’s assistant at City between 2016 and 2019.

Dovbyk strikes in extra time as Ukraine dismiss Sweden

Artem Dovbyk scored a late winner in extra-time as Ukraine saw off ten man Sweden to line up a quarter-final tie against England at Euro 2020. Oleksandr Zinchenko had give Ukraine the lead before Emil Forsberg brought Sweden level just before half-time. The dismissal of Marcus Danielson in extra-time proved costly for the Scandinavians.
