Sven-Göran Eriksson dies aged 76

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has died at the age of 76. Eriksson, the first non-British manager of the England team, led the Three Lions to the quarter-finals at three major tournaments during his five-year spell in charge between 2001 and 2006. In January Eriksson said he had “at best” a year to live after being diagnosed with cancer.

Dovbyk strikes in extra time as Ukraine dismiss Sweden

Artem Dovbyk scored a late winner in extra-time as Ukraine saw off ten man Sweden to line up a quarter-final tie against England at Euro 2020. Oleksandr Zinchenko had give Ukraine the lead before Emil Forsberg brought Sweden level just before half-time. The dismissal of Marcus Danielson in extra-time proved costly for the Scandinavians.

Claesson the hero as Sweden survive Polish comeback to reach last 16

Emil Forsberg and Robert Lewandowski exchanged braces as Sweden edged Poland with the odd goal in five to top group e at Euro 2020. The Swedes raced into a two goal lead courtesy of Forsberg but were reined in by Lewnadowski however Viktor Claesson struck late on to secure victory.
