James Trafford joins Leeds from Man City in deal worth up to £45m

Leeds United have signed goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City in a club-record deal. The deal is worth an initial £40m plus add-ons, surpassing the £35.5m paid for Georginio Rutter Hoffenheim in January 2023. Trafford has joined Leeds on a five-year contract and becomes the third permanent signing of the summer at Elland Road after Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic.

James Trafford rejoins Man City from Burnley

Manchester City have re-signed goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley. Trafford has signed a five-year deal with the option of an extra year and will compete with Ederson for the No 1 shirt under Pep Guardiola. Stefan Ortega, who started 13 games in the Premier League last season, is expected to leave the club, but an exit is not close to being agreed.
