Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz will start from the back of the grid in this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix as a result of penalties for exceeding his engine allocation. Team mate Charles Leclerc started at the back for the previous race in Russia for the same reason.

The Turkish Grand Prix has been added once again to the 2021 Formula 1 race calendar replacing the Singapore Grand Prix. The Turkish Grand Prix had previously been added to the calendar but was then removed due to Covid-19 travel restrictions however it will now host round 16 of the championship.

Wales aided their hopes of reaching the last 16 of Euro 2020 with a fine 2-0 win over Turkey in Group A. Goals in either half from Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts put Wales on 4 points which should at the very least secure progression as a best third placed team.

Italy began Euro 2020 with a 3-0 win over Turkey in Rome. A Merih Demiral own goal opened the scoring in the tournament with Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne putting the icing on the cake as Italy recorded a deserved win in Group A.
