Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on a six-and-a-half-year deal. Rosenior arrives from Strasbourg on a contract that runs until 2032. Enzo Maresca has left his job as Chelsea’s head coach. Maresca’s relationship with the club’s board has broken down and the split has led to a parting of the ways. It had seemed Chelsea would give the Italian time to turn around his side’s form but events have moved quickly during the past 24 hours. Pep Guardiola said Friday that his departure from Manchester City is “not on the table” at the moment as he focuses on trying to wrest back the Premier League title. Chelsea winger Estevao Willian outshone fellow teenage superstar Lamine Yamal in a sensational 3-0 home win over 10-man Barcelona in the Champions League. Estevao, 18, scored a stunning second goal after Barcelona went down to 10 men – skipper Ronald Araujo sent off for a second booking just before the break. A Jules Kounde own goal had given Chelsea the lead and the Blues controlled proceedings with Liam Delap adding a third.
