Bruno Famin to leave role as Alpine Team Principal

Alpine team principal Bruno Famin has confirmed he will step down from his role at the head of the F1 team at the end of August. Famin, who took over as team principal at the Renault-owned outfit almost a year ago to the day from Otmar Szafnauer following last year’s Belgian GP, says he will move on to concentrate on the other aspects of his Alpine role, based at their French headquarters in Viry-Chatillon, where he is vice-president of their motorsport projects.

Esteban Ocon signs multi-year deal at Haas from 2025

The US-based Haas team have signed Alpine driver Esteban Ocon on a multi-year contract for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Ocon, 27, made his debut in F1 in 2016 and picked up his first and only race win at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. The Frenchman will partner rookie Ollie Bearman next season as the team opt for a completely new driver pairing after letting Kevin Magnussen go while Nico Hulkenberg heads to Sauber.

FIA reveals regulations for 2026 Formula 1 season

The FIA has revealed Formula 1’s new regulations in 2026 will see a downsizing of the current cars in an attempt to produce closer racing. Redesigned power units will possess almost 300 per cent more battery power with an even split between internal combustion and electric power, while the cars will run on 100 per cent sustainable fuel. The new, smaller machinery follow a “nimble car” concept that will see weight reduced by 30 kilograms and the width of the vehicles reduced.

Sergio Pérez signs new two year deal at Red Bull

Sergio Perez has signed a new two-year contract to stay at Red Bull in Formula 1 until the end of 2026. The world champions have decided to stick with the Mexican, who joined the team in 2021, rather than switch him for Carlos Sainz, who is available following Lewis Hamilton’s decision to move to Ferrari from 2025. The 34 year old’s position at the team was under scrutiny but Red Bull have opted for continuity after an unsettled start to the season off track.

Esteban Ocon to leave Alpine at end of season

Esteban Ocon will leave Alpine at the end of the current Formula 1 season after he and the team agreed not to extend their agreement beyond the conclusion of his contract. The 27-year-old has raced for the Enstone-based team since the start of the 2020 season, under its previous identity as Renault, but a clear rift between the Frenchman and team management has become apparent this season culminating in an inexcusable incident with his teammate at the Monaco GP.
