Evenepoel dominates rivals to win stage 16 time trial – Tour de France

Time trial world champion Remco Evenepoel took a dominant victory in the time trial at the Tour de France beating his key rival by nearly half a minute. The Belgian took his second stage win of the Tour as he clocked a time of 32.19 over the 26km course. No one could come close and he clawed back 28 seconds on Tadej Pogačar in the yellow jersey.

Evenepoel wins stage 15 as Vingegaard crashes out – Tour de France

Remco Evenepoel took his first ever win on a Tour de France road stage after he shadowed Tadej Pogačar all the way up the final climb of Plateau de Solaison before beating him in a sprint on stage 15. The Belgian had already been lifted into second place in the general classification after Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) crashed on the descent to the foot of the day’s final climb. The Dane seemed to be in considerable pain and eventually climbed into the back of an ambulance.

Vingegaard powers to fifth victory on Piancavallo – Giro d’Italia

Overall leader Jonas Vingegaard launched an attack during the tough final climb to clinch victory in Saturday’s stage 20 of the Giro d’Italia. It ensures the 29-year-old from Denmark will win the race as long as he safely finishes Sunday’s final stage in Rome and become just the eighth man to complete the triple crown of road cycling’s three-week showpieces. The two-time Tour de France winner, who also won last year’s Vuelta a Espana, is making his first appearance in the Giro and has won five stages of the race.

Sepp Kuss triumphs on queen stage to complete trilogy – Giro d’Italia

Teammates Sepp Kuss and Jonas Vingegaard dominated the high mountains for Visma-Lease a Bike on Friday as the former claimed a historic solo victory on stage 19 of the Giro d’Italia, and the latter firmly defended his overall lead. By winning the brutal mountain stage atop Piani di Pezzè in the Dolomites, Kuss became the 116th rider to complete the Grand Tour stage victory trilogy, with the American adding an Italian success to wins at the Tour de France in 2021 and the Vuelta a España in 2019 and 2023.
