Manchester City had to come from behind to beat Everton as the champions kept pace with Premier League leaders Liverpool. Jack Harrison gave the hosts a first half lead however City turned things around in the second half with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva all found the back of the net to secure three points.

Julian Alvarez scored twice as Manchester City won the Fifa Club World Cup for the first time by beating Brazilians Fluminense in Saudi Arabia. Pep Guardiola’s side, taking part in the tournament after winning last season’s Champions League, made the ideal start as Alvarez struck after 40 seconds, chesting in from close range after Nathan Ake’s long-range strike hit the post.

Tottenham midfielder Dejan Kulusevski’s 90th-minute header denied Manchester City victory in a breathless six-goal thriller at Etihad Stadium. City thought they had won it nine minutes from time when Jack Grealish turned home Erling Haaland’s cross for his first goal since April.
