Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc says he is “pleased” to have extended his contract with the team for “several more seasons to come”. The 26-year-old made his Formula 1 debut with Sauber before signing a five-year contract after an impressive first season with the team in 2019. Madrid will join the Formula 1 calendar and host the Spanish Grand Prix from the 2026 season. The Spanish capital will stage a new race on a circuit on a planned 3.4-mile, 20-corner layout in the area around the city’s IFEMA exhibition centre, which is 10 miles from the centre of Madrid and close to its international airport.

Racing 92 have announced the signing of England and Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell at the end of the season. The French Top 14 side said Farrell has signed a two-year deal starting on 1 July. The 32-year-old Saracens captain has spent his whole career at the StoneX Stadium having made his debut aged 17.
