Tottenham Hotspur have ended their long search for a new manager by announcing the appointment of former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager. The 47 year old Portuguese has signed a two year deal at the London club and replaces Ryan Mason who has been caretaker coach since the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Tadej Pogacar denied Stefan Kung a maiden Tour de France stage win with a barnstorming victory in the Stage 5 time trial as Mathieu van der Poel dug deep to hold onto the yellow jersey in Laval. Dutchman Van der Poel now leads the Slovenian defending champion by eight seconds after posting the fifth-best time in the 27.2km race against the clock.

Dovbyk strikes in extra time as Ukraine dismiss Sweden

Artem Dovbyk scored a late winner in extra-time as Ukraine saw off ten man Sweden to line up a quarter-final tie against England at Euro 2020. Oleksandr Zinchenko had give Ukraine the lead before Emil Forsberg brought Sweden level just before half-time. The dismissal of Marcus Danielson in extra-time proved costly for the Scandinavians.
