Referee David Coote suspended following Klopp remarks

Premier League referee David Coote has been suspended after a video allegedly showing him making derogatory comments about Liverpool and the club’s former manager Jurgen Klopp was circulated on social media. Refereeing body PGMOL says the suspension comes into force with immediate effect and is pending a full investigation.

Roma sack Ivan Jurić following loss to Bologna

Roma have sacked Ivan Juric after only 12 matches in charge. The Croatian became the second Roma head coach to be fired this season after the side’s 3-2 home defeat by Bologna their fourth loss in the last five league games which left them 12th in the Serie A table. Juric was appointed in September after the dismissal of club legend Daniele de Rossi but he was unable to turn around the fortunes of the Giallorossi.

Brighton comeback sees City’s losing streak continue

Pep Guardiola fell to a fourth successive defeat for the first time as Manchester City boss as Brighton came from behind to beat his Premier League champions. It is the first time since 2006 that City have lost four in a row. Manchester City looked on course to end their disappointing sequence thanks to an Erling Haaland goal but the Seagulls fought back to dash those hopes.

Osimhen inspires Galatasaray to victory in thriller with Spurs

Victor Osimhen scored twice to inflict a first Europa League defeat on 10-player Tottenham and earn a 3-2 victory for wasteful Galatasaray. Spurs conceded 28 shots and had just five of their own yet escaped from Istanbul with a respectable scoreline despite having Will Lankshear sent off in the second half. Galatasaray stormed into a sixth-minute lead when Yunus Akgun’s stunning volley from the edge of the box crashed into the top-right corner but Spurs responded through 19-year-old striker Lankshear.
