Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took a sensational, surprise pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix ahead of McLaren’s title contenders Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Leclerc, nowhere near the McLaren’s pace until the final part of qualifying, pipped Piastri by just 0.026 seconds. Norris, 16 points adrift in the championship, was 0.015secs behind his team-mate.

On a foul night of torrential rain and threats of lightning strikes in Sydney that forced play to be suspended for 40 minutes, the Wallabies shocked the British and Irish Lions and won a riotous victory in the third and final Test at Stadium Australia. Luis Díaz joins Bayern Munich in €75m deal from Liverpool

German champions Bayern Munich have sealed the signing of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz. The Colombian spent three-and-a-half seasons at Anfield, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cups after his move from FC Porto in January 2022. Diaz was also a part of the side that reached the 2022 UEFA Champions League final. He scored 41 goals in 148 total appearances for Liverpool.
