Verstappen secures pole position for Australian Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen fought off a challenge from Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz to take pole position for the Australian Grand Prix. Sainz was quickest in the first two parts of qualifying but the world champion bounced back in the top 10 shootout to take pole by 0.27 seconds. McLaren’s Lando Norris will start third ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc after a grid penalty for Red Bull’s Sergio Perez for impeding.

Leclerc holds off Red Bull charge to take pole in Australia

Charles Leclerc has secured Ferrari’s first pole position in Melbourne for 15 years ahead of the Australian Grand Prix as he held off the charging Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. McLaren’s Lando Norris will start from fourth in tomorrow’s race.
