Liverpool and Manchester City fought out a thrilling draw at Anfield to leave Arsenal top of the Premier League. John Stones had given City a first half lead from a well worked corner routine however an early second half penalty conceded by Ederson allowed Alexis Mac Allister to restore parity from the spot. Van Dijk header sees Liverpool clinch Carabao Cup

Virgil van Dijk’s header deep into extra time gave an under-strength Liverpool a remarkable Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea at Wembley. Van Dijk had seen a header contentiously ruled out for offside on the hour but there was no reprieve for Chelsea when he glanced home another from Kostas Tsimikas’ corner in the 118th minute. Liverpool’s 10th triumph in the competition was achieved without a host of injured star names, including forward trio Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.

Jürgen Klopp to leave Liverpool at end of season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is to step down from the role at the end of the season, saying he is “running out of energy”. Klopp was appointed in October 2015 and his contract was due to run until 2026. He won the Champions League in 2019 before leading Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years in 2019-20.

Liverpool edge out Fulham to reach Carabao Cup Final

Liverpool “can never take these things for granted” after they saw off Fulham to set up a Carabao Cup final with Chelsea, says manager Jurgen Klopp. The Reds led 2-1 from the first leg and their draw at Craven Cottage was enough to get the job done and set up a Wembley final on 25 February.
