Liverpool have formally rejected an approach from Bayern Munich for their 28-year-old Colombian winger Luis Diaz. Bayern’s recruitment chief Max Eberl was informed that Liverpool have no intention or desire to enter discussions, with communication ended immediately. Diaz was also subject to interest from Barcelona earlier this summer.

Inter Milan reached the Champions League semi-finals with a 4-3 aggregate win over Bayern Munich after an enthralling 2-2 draw in the second leg of their quarterfinal tie at the San Siro. Harry Kane ingnited hopes of a Bayern fightback before Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard struck for the home side. Eric Dier would level for the Bavarians but they were unable to force extra-time.

The German hosts dominated the opening half hour but fell behind to a superb strike from Lautaro Martinez however Thomas Müller brought the hosts level late on. FC Barcelona captain Raphinha scored a hat-trick to lead them to a commanding 4-1 home victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, ending a near decade-long winless run against the German powerhouses. The Brazilian winger gave Barca the lead inside the opening minute but the Catalans were pegged back by Harry Kane. A goal from Robert Lewandowski restored the home side’s lead before Raphinha completed his hat-trick.
