Verstappen beat Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, on pole for the GP by 0.055 seconds with Lewis Hamilton third 0.069secs off for Mercedes. McLaren’s Lando Norris was fourth ahead of team-mate Oscar Piastri.

Sweden’s match against Belgium, abandoned on Monday amid a terror alert in Brussels, will not have to be replayed, Uefa has ruled. The Euro 2024 qualifier was abandoned at half-time for security reasons with the score 1-1. Two Swedish nationals had been shot dead in the Belgian capital earlier on Monday.

Juventus’ Nicolò Fagioli handed 7-month ban over betting breaches

Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli has been banned for seven months by the Italian football federation for breaching betting rules. Fagioli was given a 12-month ban, with five months suspended, and fined €12,500. The 22-year-old will also have to have therapy for his gambling problem.
