Juventus sack manager Massimiliano Allegri

Juventus have sacked manager Massimiliano Allegri just two days after he led the side to glory in the Coppa Italia. The club cited Allegri’s behaviour during the final minutes of the game as grounds for his dismissal however even before his antics at the Stadio Olimpico, the 56-year-old had been expected to lose his job and be replaced by Bologna coach Thiago Motta.

Milan completes hat-trick with victory on stage 13 – Giro d’Italia

Friday’s pan-flat Stage 13 had a sting in the tail as crosswinds, crashes and multiple attacks in the latter moments caused plenty of nervous energy in the bunch. The American holed nine birdies in a sensational bogey-free round to lead by three at Valhalla. Americans Tony Finau and Sahith Theegala sit in a tie for second on six under, one stroke ahead of Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and Robert MacIntyre, who were among seven players to post five-under-par 66s.

Alex Albon signs multi-year contract extension with Williams

Alex Albon has signed a new contract with Williams at least until the end of 2026. The 28-year-old British-born Thai driver has been with the team since 2022, and previously had a contract that expired at the end of next season. Williams have not confirmed the length of the new deal but say it is “multi-year contract extension” that takes Albon into Formula 1’s new regulation period, which starts in 2026.
