The Blues were made to work hard for the three points by the visitors who led through Jarrod Bowen at the break. Manchester United advanced straight to the Europa League last 16 as Kobbie Mainoo scored one and assisted another to help Ruben Amorim’s side to a win at FCSB. After a relatively drab first 60 minutes Mainoo’s low pass found wing-back Diogo Dalot, who was unmarked at the back post to comfortably tap United ahead. After letting slip a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Brentford in their last Premier League outing, Pep Guardiola’s side returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with Phil Foden grabbing a brace along with goals from Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, Mateo Kovacic and James McAtee.
