Joshua Zirkzee scored the winning penalty as a 10-man Manchester United beat Arsenal in a thrilling encounter to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup. United had to play with 10 men for nearly an hour after Diogo Dalot was shown a second yellow card, after going one up through Bruno Fernandes. Gabriel brought Arsenal level but the home side missed a host of chances to win the tie.

David Moyes reappointed as Everton manager

David Moyes said it is “great to be back” after being appointed Everton manager for a second time. The 61-year-old Scot has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Goodison Park following the sacking of Sean Dyche on Thursday. Everton sack manager Sean Dyche

Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines will take temporary charge of Everton for tonight’s FA Cup clash against Peterborough United, after manager Sean Dyche was sacked by the club hours before kick-off. The club confirmed the news in a statement this afternoon, saying that Dyche and his coaching staff were departing with immediate effect and that the process to find his replacement was underway.
