Verstappen edges Norris to take Sprint pole in Austin

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen beat McLaren’s title rivals Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to take pole for the sprint race at the United States Grand Prix. Verstappen, with the very last lap of the session, displaced Norris at the top of the timesheets by 0.071 seconds in Austin. Piastri, leading Norris by 22 points in the championship with six races to go, was 0.309secs behind his team-mate. Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg was a sensational fourth.

Williams’ Carlos Sainz says Formula 1’s TV coverage is going “overboard a little” by showing driver’s girlfriends while missing overtakes during races. During Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix, fans watching at home missed some on-track action, including Fernando Alonso chasing down Lewis Hamilton, who had a brake issue, for seventh place in the final laps. In the final stages, TV coverage focused on McLaren’s Lando Norris chasing Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for second place.

Mercedes George Russell eased to victory at the Singapore Grand Prix ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and the McLaren of Lando Norris. Norris left his teammate Oscar Piastri enraged after contact on the opening lap with the Championship leader finishing fourth. Norris’ podium finish was enough to see McLaren secure the Constructors’ title for the second year in a row.

Russell charges to pole in Singapore ahead of Verstappen

Mercedes’ George Russell stole the spotlight from the title contenders with a stunning pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix. Russell’s first pole since the Canadian Grand Prix in June was achieved by 0.182 seconds from Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. McLaren’s championship leader Oscar Piastri took third place, with his title rival and team-mate Lando Norris fifth, behind Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli. Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc took sixth and seventh.
