Honda to return to F1 in 2026 with Aston Martin

Honda is to return to Formula 1 in a formal capacity in 2026 as engine partner for the Aston Martin team. The company officially pulled out of F1 at the end of 2021 but its engines are still used by the two Red Bull teams and are called Hondas again in 2023. Honda said on Wednesday that F1’s pursuit of carbon-neutrality by 2030 was the “key factor” behind its decision to re-enter officially.

Red Bull agree deal to run Honda engine technology until 2025

Red Bull have secured a deal to take over the running of Honda’s engines when the Japanese firm leaves Formula 1 at the end of this year.Announcing the creation of their own in-house engine division, Red Bull Powertrains Limited, the new company will run the engines for both Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri from 2022 until the start of F1’s new engine era, which is set to begin in 2025.
