Russell wins Canadian Grand Prix as Norris and Piastri collide

Mercedes’ George Russell won the Canadian Grand Prix from pole as McLaren teammates and championship rivals Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri crashed late on. Norris hit the back of Piastri’s car on the pit straight with four laps to go seeing the race end under the safety car with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen second ahead of the second Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli who picks up his first podium finish.

Russell pips Verstappen to pole in Canada

Mercedes’ George Russell snatched pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix from Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Russell beat Verstappen by 0.160 seconds to grab the fastest time just seconds after the Dutchman himself had taken it away from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri. The Australian’s team-mate and title rival Lando Norris could manage only seventh place, behind Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli, Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and a superb performance from Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin.

Verstappen wins Canadian GP as Red Bull claim 100th victory

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen equalled Ayrton Senna’s career total of 41 victories with a dominant win at the Canadian Grand Prix. The Dutchman’s sixth triumph in eight races this season gave him a 69-point lead in the championship and was the 100th victory for his Red Bull team. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso passed Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes on track to win a battle for second place.

Verstappen takes pole ahead of Canadian GP in wet conditions

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took pole position in a wet qualifying session at the Canadian Grand Prix that produced a series of shocks. He will start ahead of the Haas of Nico Hulkenberg, a car that is usually in the midfield but in which the veteran German excelled in the conditions while Fernando Alonso starts P3.

Verstappen holds off Sainz to win Canadian Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen held off the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz to win the Canadian Grand Prix from pole position with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton completing the podium. The Silver Arrow of George Russel finished P4 with Charles Leclerc storming from P19 to P5 to limit his losses to Verstappen in the title fight.
