Norris pips home favourite Leclerc to pole in Monaco

McLaren’s Lando Norris snatched pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix from local hero Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari with the final lap of qualifying. Norris beat Leclerc by 0.109 seconds as the second McLaren of Oscar Piastri took third place ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, so far the McLaren drivers’ only title rival, could manage only fifth place for Red Bull. Racing Bulls’ French rookie Isack Hadjar took sixth place ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso.

Haas pair disqualified from Monaco qualifying after DRS infringement

Both Haas drivers have been disqualified from today’s Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session after their cars failed a legality check. The FIA’s Formula 1 technical delegate Jo Bauer informed the stewards both drivers’ VF-24s did not pass an inspection of the DRS opening. Nico Hulkenberg had qualified P12 ahead of teammate Kevin Magnussen who was due to lineup p15.

Leclerc beats Piastri to take pole on home soil in Monaco

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri. World champion Max Verstappen, struggling all weekend in his Red Bull, could manage only sixth place after hitting the wall at the first corner on his final lap. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was third, ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes George Russell, whose team-mate Lewis Hamilton was seventh.
