Norris shines to take Sao Paulo sprint pole

Lando Norris took pole position for the sprint race at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix with McLaren team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri in third. The Briton beat Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli by 0.097 seconds, while Piastri was 0.185secs adrift of the Briton in third. Norris took the championship lead from Piastri by one point with victory in Mexico City two weeks ago. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen the only other realistic title contender could only manage sixth.

Norris fends off Ferrari duo to take pole in Mexico

McLaren’s Lando Norris gave his title hopes a boost by taking pole position at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Title rivals Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri will start the race fifth and seventh, as both Ferrari drivers and Mercedes’ George Russell muscled in on the championship fight. Norris beat Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc by 0.262 seconds, while Lewis Hamilton secured his best grand prix qualifying position of the season in third.

Verstappen storms to pole ahead of US Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen beat McLaren’s Lando Norris to pole position at the United States Grand Prix with championship leader Oscar Piastri down in sixth. After the McLaren drivers crashed out of the sprint earlier on Saturday, neither was able to challenge Verstappen even though the world champion failed to complete a final run in qualifying. Verstappen was sent out too late to get around in time to start a last lap before the chequered flag but still beat Norris by 0.291 seconds.

Verstappen edges Norris to take Sprint pole in Austin

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen beat McLaren’s title rivals Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to take pole for the sprint race at the United States Grand Prix. Verstappen, with the very last lap of the session, displaced Norris at the top of the timesheets by 0.071 seconds in Austin. Piastri, leading Norris by 22 points in the championship with six races to go, was 0.309secs behind his team-mate. Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg was a sensational fourth.

Russell charges to pole in Singapore ahead of Verstappen

Mercedes’ George Russell stole the spotlight from the title contenders with a stunning pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix. Russell’s first pole since the Canadian Grand Prix in June was achieved by 0.182 seconds from Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. McLaren’s championship leader Oscar Piastri took third place, with his title rival and team-mate Lando Norris fifth, behind Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli. Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc took sixth and seventh.
