Claudio Ranieri ends retirement to become Roma manager

Claudio Ranieri has been appointed head coach of Roma until the end of the season – six months after announcing his retirement. Ranieri has also taken on a role advising the Italian club’s owners and will help in the search for a permanent manager. At the end of the season the 73-year-old will “transition into a senior executive role”, the club said.

Roma sack Ivan Jurić following loss to Bologna

Roma have sacked Ivan Juric after only 12 matches in charge. The Croatian became the second Roma head coach to be fired this season after the side’s 3-2 home defeat by Bologna their fourth loss in the last five league games which left them 12th in the Serie A table. Juric was appointed in September after the dismissal of club legend Daniele de Rossi but he was unable to turn around the fortunes of the Giallorossi.

José Mourinho to be unveiled as Fenerbahce manager

Jose Mourinho is set to be named manager of Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce. The 61 year old has been out of work since he was sacked by AS Roma in January. A serial winner, Mourinho will replace Ismail Kartal, who left Fenerbahce on Friday after they finished second in the league to city rivals Galatasaray, despite losing just one game and recording 99 points last term.
