Iconic F1 team owner Eddie Jordan passes away aged 76

Eddie Jordan, the flamboyant former Formula 1 team owner and television pundit, has died aged 76. The Irishman, who had aggressive prostate cancer, died in the early hours of Thursday morning. Jordan founded and ran Jordan Grand Prix, from 1991 to 2005 and was a former shareholder of Celtic Football Club.

Norris holds off Verstappen to win thrilling Australian Grand Prix

Lando Norris mastered treacherous, changing conditions in a dramatic, incident-packed race to beat Max Verstappen and win the Australian Grand Prix. Norris and his McLaren team made the right calls in a race punctuated by crashes, three safety cars and an aborted start. Norris was forced to fend off a late threat from Verstappen while Mercedes’ George Russell finished third ahead of his rookie teammate Kimi Antonelli.

McLaren’s Lando Norris takes pole for season opening Australian GP

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri made it a McLaren one-two in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix, while Lewis Hamilton took eighth on his Ferrari debut. Norris and Piastri made life difficult for themselves with mistakes on their first laps in the final part of qualifying, but both produced strong laps on their final runs. Briton Norris beat Australian Piastri by 0.084 seconds as both knocked early pace-setter Max Verstappen’s Red Bull down to third in Melbourne.

Cadillac to join Formula 1 grid in 2026

US car giant General Motors has had its Formula 1 entry for the 2026 season formally approved. It will name the new team after its luxury Cadillac brand. The decision to approve GM’s bid comes just over two months after the company reached an agreement in principle with F1 to enter the sport next year. F1 had previously rejected a bid from the US team Andretti, which was linked to Cadillac.

General Motors agree deal to join F1 grid in 2026

Formula 1 announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle with General Motors (GM) to support bringing GM/Cadillac as the 11th team to the Formula 1 grid in 2026. Formula 1 has maintained a dialogue with General Motors, and its partners at TWG Global, regarding the viability of an entry following the commercial assessment and decision made by Formula 1 in January 2024.
