Lando Norris bounces back with victory in Austria

Lando Norris fought off a race-long challenge from McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri to win the Austrian Grand Prix. Norris’ third victory of the year, leading home a McLaren one-two, reduced his deficit in the championship to the Australian to 15 points. Ferrari’s Charles Lecerc completed the podium while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen saw his race ended by turn 3 after he was spun by Kimi Antonelli.

Norris storms to pole ahead of Austrian GP

Lando Norris took a dominant pole position at the Austrian Grand Prix as late yellow flag drama left championship leader Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen frustrated. Norris has topped every session since second practice and continued his superb form into qualifying, beating Charles Leclerc to pole by over half a second – the biggest pole margin of the 2025 F1 season so far.
