The 50-year-old was placed under investigation by the F1 team’s Austrian parent company Red Bull GmbH after allegations were made against him by a female colleague.

The FAI’s long search for a new permanent head coach is set to continue with the association announcing that an appointment will be made in early April, with John O’Shea today named interim boss for the March window. The former Man United player will be assisted for Paddy McCarthy for the games against Belgium and Switzerland.

Haaland scores five as Man City run riot at Luton

Erling Haaland scored five in a stunning display of finishing as holders Manchester City thrashed Luton to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals. It was the Norwegian’s eighth hat-trick for City and he also became the first player to score five in a game twice for the club. City opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Kevin de Bruyne, who assisted the first four goals, was allowed time and space to cut the ball back for Haaland to convert.

Everton’s Premier League points deduction reduced to six on appeal

Everton’s penalty for breaching Premier League financial rules has been reduced from 10 points to six after an appeal. The club were immediately docked 10 points in November for breaking profit and sustainability rules (PSR) in the three-year period to 2021-22. The reduction lifts them from 17th to 15th, although the club is facing another possible points deduction.

Van Dijk header sees Liverpool clinch Carabao Cup

Virgil van Dijk’s header deep into extra time gave an under-strength Liverpool a remarkable Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea at Wembley. Van Dijk had seen a header contentiously ruled out for offside on the hour but there was no reprieve for Chelsea when he glanced home another from Kostas Tsimikas’ corner in the 118th minute. Liverpool’s 10th triumph in the competition was achieved without a host of injured star names, including forward trio Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.
