Everton’s penalty for breaching Premier League financial rules has been reduced from 10 points to six after an appeal. The club were immediately docked 10 points in November for breaking profit and sustainability rules (PSR) in the three-year period to 2021-22. The reduction lifts them from 17th to 15th, although the club is facing another possible points deduction.

Manchester City had to come from behind to beat Everton as the champions kept pace with Premier League leaders Liverpool. Jack Harrison gave the hosts a first half lead however City turned things around in the second half with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva all found the back of the net to secure three points.

Everton have confirmed the appointment of former Burnley boss Sean Dyche as their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year contract. Dyche is the seventh permanent manager hired by Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri since he took over the club nearly seven years ago and he is tasked with helping them avoid relegation.
