Hamilton to get new race engineer for 2026 season

Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer from the 2025 Formula 1 season has been moved to a new role at Ferrari. Riccardo Adami will take over as manager of the Ferrari driver academy and their programme for testing previous cars. A Ferrari statement made no reference to Hamilton by name, saying only: “The appointment of the new race engineer for car number 44 will be announced in due course.”

New Zealand sack head coach Scott Robertson

Scott Robertson has been sacked as head coach of New Zealand after two years in charge. Robertson, 51, replaced Ian Foster after the World Cup in 2023 and led the All Blacks to 10 wins out of 13 Tests in the 2025 season. But the former Canterbury Crusaders coach came under pressure following an away defeat by Argentina and a record 43-10 loss to South Africa in the Rugby Championship in Wellington.

Manchester United appoint Michael Carrick as interim manager

Michael Carrick has been confirmed as Manchester United head coach on a deal until the end of the season. The former Red Devils midfielder, club captain and first-team coach returns to Old Trafford after Ruben Amorim was sacked last Monday following an acrimonious end to 14 underwhelming months in charge. Carrick has been chosen to lead United ahead of ex-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had also been in talks with the Red Devils.
