Leicester City have appointed former PSV Eindhoven boss Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager. The Dutchman replaces Steve Cooper, who was sacked last weekend after just 12 Premier League matches in charge of the Foxes. He has signed a contract until June 2027 at the King Power Stadium. Van Nistelrooy’s appointment comes two weeks after he left his role as interim head coach at Manchester United following Ruben Amorim’s arrival.

FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has been ruled out of Euro 2024 with the Netherlands due to injury. De Jong hasn’t played since being stretchered off in El Clasico in April but had linked up with the national team ahead of the European Championship.
