Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says winger Bukayo Saka will miss “many weeks” with a hamstring injury. The England attacker was forced off during Saturday’s 5-1 win against Crystal Palace and left Selhurst Park on crutches. Arsenal got back to winning ways in the Champions League with a commanding victory over Sporting at Estadio Jose Alvalade. Gabriel Martinelli tapped home from Jurrien Timber’s low cross as Mikel Arteta’s side went in front early on. They doubled the lead in similar fashion, Bukayo Saka getting in behind the Sporting defence and firing the ball across the box for Kai Havertz to prod in from close range.

Mohamed Salah scored a late equaliser as Liverpool came from behind twice to earn a point at title rivals Arsenal. Bukayo Saka had given the home side an early lead before Virgil Van Dijk headed Livepool level. Mikel Moreno rose highest from a set piece before the interval to restore the Gunners’ lead but Salah was the saviour once again to see the spoils shared.
