Mads Pedersen survived the Albanian mountains to retake the leader’s pink jersey with a brilliant sprint win on Stage 3 at the Giro d’Italia. Just like the opening stage, Lidl-Trek protected their leader throughout before a long and successful leadout. Pedersen leads the Giro by nine seconds from pre-race favourite Primoz Roglic courtesy of bonus seconds.

Barcelona see off Madrid in thrilling El Clásico to close on title

Raphinha scored twice as FC Barcelona overcame a two-goal deficit to secure a crucial 4-3 home victory against rivals Real Madrid in a pulsating Clasico on Sunday, edging them closer to the La Liga title. Los Blancos had raced into an early two goal lead courtesy of Kylian Mbappe who completed his hat-trick in the second half but it was not enough as Barca battled back to record a crucial victory.

Josh Tarling wins stage 2 time trial as Roglič takes pink – Giro d’Italia

Josh Tarling (Ineos Grenadiers) lived up to his pre-stage favourite tag by claiming victory in the Time Trial on Stage 2 of the 2025 Giro d’Italia. After storming into the lead, the 21-year-old was made to sweat as Primoz Roglic (Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe) looked to leapfrog him but fell just a second short. The Slovenian did however, take the overall race lead from Mads Pedersen.

Mads Pedersen powers into pink with opening stage victory -Giro d’Italia

Mads Pedersen sprinted to victory on the opening stage of the Giro d’Italia in Tirana, taking the first pink jersey of the race in the process. The Dane pipped Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) on the line. The Lidl-Trek rider had been put in the perfect position by his team on both the final climbs of the race and into the final corner, and managed to hold off Van Aert in the closing metres. Orluis Aular (Movistar) finished third.

Manchester United will face Tottenham in an all-or-nothing Europa League final after substitute Mason Mount’s magical brace helped secure a 4-1 comeback win against battling Athletic Bilbao. Despite falling behind to a wonder strike from Mikel Jauregizar the Red Devils responded with gusto through Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund and a fine brace from Mason Mount.
